In Hanoi, flowering peach is the traditional Tet flower that every house must have one . Peach can only grown in the North of Vietnam where the Winter temperature is cold enough for peach to flower.

In the Central and South Vietnam, the weather is warm year round, peach is replaced by mai flower (Ochna interregima).

Both cut-flowers and potted miniature-flowering-plants are used to celebrate Tet. The potted plants have different size, from few inches to several feet high. Many plants are very old and grown as bonsai plants.

Beside flowers, the Vietnamese also loves to have kumquat or tangerine trees with full of colorful fruits.
