Thousands of Cattleya hybrids have been developed within the genus, with many of the larger flowering types grown commercially for cut-flower production and they are often used in corsages. Spectacular and reasonably tough plants, Cattleyas are easy to grow for beginners. They like warm, humid, bright, lightly shaded conditions.
