Botanical name: Lantana camara L. Small shrub. Coarsely serrate leaves are deeply veined and are opposite on short petioles. Foliage is aromatic. Clusters of many small tubular flowers encircled by rings of sepals. Flowers turn white then yellow toward center. Color can be yellow, pink, orange, red or blue. Woody stem, can be trained as bonsai plant. Lantana montevidensis, Weeping Lantana, Trailing Lantana A trailing shrub with pendant stems 2-3 feet long and pinkiskish purple flower cluster. In warm weather, this species can be grown as ground cover and in hanging basket. |
