Asparagus (Asparagus officinalis )

Previous Home Next

Asparagus is a long-lived perennial vegetable crop that is enjoyed by many gardeners. It can be productive for 15 or more years if given proper care. Fresh-picked spears are far more tender and tasty than store-bought ones. Asparagus grows well in all USDA zones except for zones 10 and 11 (they need cold winter to go dormant).
