Sweet coneflower is a Missouri native plant reaching a height of 3 to 5 feet. The plant blooms from July to October. The blooms are yellow, daisy-like flowers (up to 3 inches across) with dark brownish-purple center disks on branched stems. Flowers have a mild aroma of anise, hence the common name.
