Sweet Pea (Lathyrus odoratus).
Sweet pea is a flowering vine in the genus Lathyrus in the family Fabaceae (legumes), native to the eastern Mediterranean region. The flowers are purple, about an inch broad, in the wild plant, larger and very variable in colour in the many cultivars. The Sweet Pea, L. odoratus, is an annual. It may be confused with the Ever lasting Pea, L. latifolius, a perennial.
