Bai Dinh Pagoda, the largest pagoda complex in Vietnam, , is located at Gia Vien District in the northern province of Ninh Binh, 95 kilometers south of Hanoi. Even though it is still under construction, with expected date of completion in 2010 to mark the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long or Hanoi, it is still attracting a large number of pilgrims and tourists. The old Bai Dinh pagoda is located in a cave on a small mountain near the new temple.
