The Far North of Vietnam (Viet Bac): Tuyen Quang and Hà Giang .

The Far North of Vietnam (Việt Bắc) consists of six provinces next to the China border: Cao Bằng, Lạng Sơn, Bắc Kạn, Thái Nguyên, Tuyên Quang and Hà Giang. Some roads leading to this area are small and rough. However, the scenic view of this mountainous region is spectacular.

Except Lang Son, there is not much tourism development in the Việt Bắc. However, if you really want to see the beauty of Vietnam that is not spoiled by tourism, you should visit Hà Giang.

Hà Giang is one of the poorest provinces of Vietnam. Infrastructure in Hà Giang has seen improvement, but remains poor - roading, schools, and health services are less developed than in many other parts of Vietnam.
