Quan Ba district, Ha Giang province, Vietnam. View pictures as slide show

Quan Ba district is in the rocky limestone mountainous region of Ha Giang province. The road from the town of Ha Giang to Quan Ba is narrow, uphill and winding (31 miles). After passing "Cong Troi" (Heaven Gate), you will see Quan Ba down in the valley. The view of Quan Ba from the pass is so beautiful and peaceful.

About 90% of families living here are ‘ethnic minority’ people - Hmong, Dao, Tay, Nung, Giay, and Bo Y. Most speak their own languages, which do not yet have written scripts. The remote rocky environment makes life more difficult. Quan Ba remains one of the poorest districts of Vietnam.
